BRAZEN RECOMMENDS: The Anatomy of the Obsessed Artist

This video examines what happens when desire is taken too far, and turns into destructive obsession. Whiplash (2014) and Black Swan (2010) are both films that centre around performers on the quest to achieve greatness. Without giving too much away, they both follow the protagonists' arc through desire, struggle, sacrifice and descent into madness, leading to two distinctly different outcomes. It's a fascinating exploration on the theme of sacrificing for your art, and forces you to ask just as many questions as it answers — does the end really justify the means? How far would you go to achieve what you most desire? How far is too far?

(Warning: this video does contain spoilers, so heads up if you haven't watched either of these movies yet!)
