Earthrise is a new online platform created by Jack and Finn Harries (of Jacksgap fame) and filmmaker/photographer Alice Aedy. I've been following all three of them individually for several years now and am a big fan of their work, and the passion with which they use their platforms to raise awareness about climate change and social issues. So, needless to say, I'm super excited about this project they've created together. The goal of the platform is to tackle and demystify all the complicated jargon that so often puts people off from learning about climate change in more depth, and to include marginalised communities in the conversation. There aren't that many posts up yet because it's still so new, but I've already learned so much. A point they've made which has already changed my perspective on climate change so much is that it truly is an issue of social justice — climate change often disproportionately affects marginalised communities such as BIPOC, indigenous people, women, and low-income families, though they are the ones who contribute to it the least. Check them out and follow them on Instagram to learn more about the climate crisis we're currently living through in clear, easy to understand language, as well as the actionable steps we can take to create positive change, for ourselves and future generations.
